Position Summary
St. Gerard Majella Catholic School is seeking reliable and mission-driven day-to-day substitute teachers to support classroom instruction when faculty members are absent. Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining a positive, structured, and faith-centered learning environment for students. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, value Catholic education, and can adapt quickly to different classroom settings.
Position Overview
Substitute teachers will follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher, manage daily routines, and ensure continuity of learning. Candidates with an educational background are highly encouraged to apply. All applicants must be compliant with Prevent and Protect, the Archdiocesan safe-environment program.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom instruction based on teacher-prepared lesson plans.
  • Maintain a respectful, orderly, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, and other assigned areas.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff to support daily routines.
  • Follow school policies, procedures, and expectations for student behavior.
