Geotechnical Engineer in Training

Salary:  $70,000 - $90,000

 Description

Bryant Consultants, an Aperture company, is looking for a highly motivated geotechnical engineer-in-training with a civil and/or geotechnical background for our Carrollton, TX location! You will be joining our team and providing high-level inspection, engineering, and project management services to our diverse client base. 

Essential Functions

  • The successful candidate will work under a professional engineer's supervision to provide high-level inspection, engineering, and project management services to our diverse client base.
  • Requires application of standard engineering techniques and procedures, including professional judgment to execute work, develop solutions, and make design modifications.
  • Site investigation and characterization using geotechnical and environmental field and laboratory data

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study. Master of Science degree in geotechnical and/or structural engineering is preferred.
  • Foundation design courses are preferred. 
  • 0-3 years of experience in related field.
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or equivalent certification (or to be obtained within 3 months).

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to sit at a desk up to 80% of the time 
  • The ability to stand and walk up to 20% of the time 
  • The ability to be confined in a small area, such as a cubicle 
  • The ability to operate phones and computers

Hours of Work

  • Fulltime: Defined as 5 days a week for 40 hours per week. Actual working hours will be discussed with the hiring manager.
