Geotechnical Intern

As a Geotechnical Intern at Gessner Engineering, you will assist the department in their daily operations. Your specific responsibilities are commensurate with experience and the expected learning outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Aid team in field service requests
  • Assisting lab crew with performing lab testing.
  • Collaborate with peers to review and request or provide guidance on appropriate project direction
  • Draft lab and field reports for project manager review and approval
  • Collaborate in a team setting with department members and other design disciplines such as civil, structural, and external sub-consultants and clients, as necessary, for project coordination.
  • Provide regular project updates and a forecast of obstacles to a supervising project manager
Skills and Special Requirements/Licensing:
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, and work in varying weather conditions across varying terrain
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
  • Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage numerous assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially and professionalism.
