NV5, Inc. is a top-ranked engineering and management consulting firm, with offices nationwide. The Saint Paul, Minnesota office is currently seeking a talented self-motivated individual for an Electrical Engineer position. Come join us in delivering projects that make a difference.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with at least 5+ years of engineering design experience to join our Electrical Building Systems group serving Industrial, Commercial, Government and Higher Education markets.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and interested in team building, client relationships, and continuous learning while applying a broad range of electrical engineering and interpersonal skills.


Additional responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Development of construction documents, project specifications, and reports.
  • Prepare electrical design drawings for power distribution systems, lighting layout, Fire Alarm, and equipment sizing.
  • Prepare design drawings and/or provide markups to drafting team or other project resources.
  • Provide construction administration tasks throughout all phases of construction.
  • Perform MEP, architectural, structural, and civil coordination.
  • Must be able to travel to project sites as needed or required.
  • Research and analyze technical data, installation and operations manuals for products and equipment.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with clients, and NV5 employees.
  • Develop your career via peer-learning through sharing knowledge with other experienced engineers and designers.

We believe the following qualifications will lead to remarkable success in this role:

  • Bachelors (BS) in Electrical Engineering
  • PE preferred.  Required to have passed FE exam (with EIT designation) with ability to get PE within 12 months.
  • 5+ years of experience in an architectural and/or consulting engineering design environment
  • Experience in industrial electrical systems would be a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of applicable engineering codes.
  • Ability to coordinate with controls and equipment vendors to generate instrumentation and controls field installation drawings and wiring schematics is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
