Senior Manager, Supply Chain Governance

This role is central to strengthening the responsiveness, resilience, risk management capabilities and integrity of Mattr's global supply chain. Success will depend on translating enterprise risk objectives into practical governance processes that support informed, compliant, and consistent decision-making across business units. 

Position Summary 

Based in Calgary, Alberta, Toronto, Ontario, Dallas, Texas or Houston, Texas in a hybrid work arrangement, the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Governance will lead the establishment of an enterprise-level supply chain governance framework focused on the oversight of raw material sourcing, supplier lifecycle management, supply chain and product compliance, and geopolitical risk integration. 

This role will help develop and implement consistent practices and policies across the supply chain functions for the various business units of Mattr with the goal of enhancing visibility, consistency, scalability and disciplined risk management across Mattr's global supply chain. 

Core responsibilities include advancing the following enterprise objectives: 

  • Establish an enterprise-level sourcing governance framework 

  • Define standardized sourcing requirements to manage risk across all business units 

  • Identify, maintain, and communicate geopolitical supply chain risks through an enterprise risk registry, ensuring timely escalation and visibility to Business Unit Supply Chain leaders to support informed sourcing and operational decisions. 

  • Develop corporate-level policies, processes, and controls that support consistent, scalable execution and coordinate cross-functional roll-out of same  

  • Support the development and execution of the global supply chain strategy and annual strategic priorities 

  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting supply chains and product compliance and coordinate practical responses 

  • Lead compliance with global supply chain transparency regulations and reporting requirements 

  • Share supply chain best practices 

  • Provide practical support to operations facing ongoing supply chain challenges. 

The role will partner closely with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, and Operational leadership to operationalize governance standards within supplier lifecycle activities and related business processes.

Key Relationships 

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Governance will exercise their mandate through key internal and external relationships, including: 

  • Business Unit Supply Chain and Procurement Leadership 

  • Chief Financial Officer 

  • Group Presidents Connection Technologies and Composite Technologies 

  • Chief Compliance Officer 

  • Operations, Engineering and Quality leaders across Business Units 

  • Director, Financial Compliance 

Duties 

Enterprise Supply Chain Governance 

  • Design and implement an enterprise sourcing governance framework that balances effective oversight with streamlined, practical and user-friendly processes 

  • Establish cross-business unit coordination to improve visibility, consistency, and accountability in sourcing practices 

  • Develop governance structures, decision rights, and escalation protocols for sourcing risk issues 

  • Develop, maintain, and support adoption of corporate-level supply chain policies and process standards, that support consistent execution 

  • Identify and leverage appropriate technology, automation and artificial intelligence tools to support efficient compliance monitoring, and reduce administrative burden 

Sourcing Standards & Risk Management 

  • Define enterprise-wide minimum sourcing standards, including supplier qualification, onboarding, and lifecycle management requirements 

  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls for supplier due diligence and ongoing monitoring 

  • Support audit and review programs to validate supplier compliance with enterprise standards 

  • Coordinate tracking and escalation of remediation efforts for identified supplier risks or non-compliance and provide execution support to business-unit supply chain and operations leaders. 

  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting supply chains and product compliance, assess applicability, assign ownership, and coordinate timely responses 

  • Define sourcing risk requirements for incorporation into procurement processes and ERP systems in partnership with business-unit process owners and system owners 

Geopolitical Risk Framework 

  • Establish and operationalize a standardized geopolitical risk monitoring framework 

  • Embed geopolitical risk considerations into:  

  • Supplier selection and onboarding 

  • Contracting and sourcing decisions 

  • Ongoing supplier performance and risk monitoring 

  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to align geopolitical risk management with sanctions, export controls, and regulatory obligations 

Cross-Functional Integration 

  • Partner with various functional support groups to align governance requirements with operational workflows, digital tools, and supplier platforms 

  • Partner with business unit Procurement to strengthen strategic supplier collaboration and long-term value creation 

  • Support integration of governance requirements into commercial agreements and supplier contracts 

Executive Reporting & Continuous Improvement 

  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to senior leadership based on operational and financial performance 

  • Develop and deliver enterprise-level reporting on supply chain risk, compliance, and governance performance 

  • Provide visibility to senior leadership on key risk exposures, trends, and mitigation strategies 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain transparency, consistency, and resilience  

Operational Support 

  • Provide guidance and support to Business Unit Supply Chain and Operations leaders on procurement best practices, strategic sourcing approaches, supplier management, and continuous improvement opportunities.  

  • Serve as a mentor and trusted advisor to supply chain teams across the organization, fostering capability development, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of consistent supply chain processes and standards.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Law, Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred) 

  • 8-12+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, compliance, or governance roles 

  • Experience implementing enterprise governance frameworks or risk management programs 

  • Strong understanding of global sourcing risks, including geopolitical, regulatory, and operational factors 

  • Experience working in complex, multi-business unit or multinational environments preferred
