Job description

DeVine is looking to hire a part time Geopolitical Analyst and remote work is approved.

The Ph.D. Geopolitical Analyst will contribute to an ongoing initiative described below.

Project Summary:
Thie successful hire will create analysis to support an integrated deterrence strategy.  The deterrence strategy primarily includes military deterrence and multiple elements of national power.  The study specifically requires expertise in geopolitics in the China-Taiwan issue and the surrounding countries. Broad knowledge about the economics, social dynamics and culture of the countries is sought. Analysis may take various forms, such as Delphic methods, wargame analysis, campaign analysis, as well as output analysis of computer simulations. Interpretation of the data requires in-depth knowledge of regional conflicts, the state actors, leaders, and the population of the affected countries.
The scope of the subject matter is partitioned into 1) the development of value models 2) geopolitical analysis on the results of wargames, campaign analysis, simulation experiments and exercises 3) technical advice to the research and project leads regarding the China-Taiwan issues, and 4) serve as the co-principal investigator and primary advisor to the Principal Investigator for the associated research projects.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Geopolitics or a related subject
  • Must have studied the China-Taiwan issue in depth within the past 5 years 
  • Current Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to travel occasionally 

About the Position

  • Consultant, Part-Time
  • Location: Remote or in Monterey, CA
  • Compensation: $70- $95 DOE and Skills, 450 hours per year estimated
