Regional Director
An advisory platform specialising in geopolitical intelligence is seeking a Regional Director to lead its Americas overage. The role combines regional leadership, analytical production, and client engagement, supporting investors and corporations operating in politically complex and high-growth markets.
The successful candidate will oversee regional intelligence coverage, produce original analysis, manage contributors, and engage directly with senior clients. The role covers geopolitical analysis, market intelligence, and strategic advisory.
Key Responsibilities
Regional leadership and coverage
Lead and develop geopolitical and stakeholder intelligence coverage, ensuring high-quality analysis of political, regulatory, and macroeconomic developments affecting business and investment.
Political and country risk analysis
Monitor and interpret political, regulatory, and economic developments to identify emerging risks and opportunities impacting investment environments.
Stakeholder mapping and influence analysis
Identify and analyse key political, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders shaping outcomes in priority markets, including mapping networks of influence.
Market entry and investment advisory
Provide analysis supporting market entry strategies and investment decisions, assessing regulatory environments, political feasibility, and local power dynamics.
Due diligence and counterparty assessment
Support intelligence-led due diligence assignments by profiling companies and individuals to identify reputational, political, or regulatory risks.
Sanctions and regulatory risk monitoring
Track sanctions regimes, trade restrictions, and regulatory developments affecting cross-border investments, supply chains, and operations.
Country risk benchmarking
Develop structured country risk assessments and comparative analysis across jurisdictions to support strategic decision-making.
Client engagement and briefings
Deliver written and verbal briefings to senior clients, providing clear and actionable insights on geopolitical and stakeholder dynamics.
Editorial leadership and contributor management
Manage regional contributors and ensure analytical outputs meet editorial and quality standards.
Business development support
Support business development initiatives by contributing analytical insight to proposals and client discussions.
Sector focus
Work will primarily relate to sectors where political and regulatory dynamics strongly influence investment outcomes, including energy, renewables, and mining.
Candidate Profile
  • 10+ years' professional experience focused on political risk, geopolitical analysis, or related advisory work
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce concise and insightful analysis
  • Deep knowledge of political and commercial dynamics across markets
  • Familiarity with upstream oil and gas, renewables, or mining sectors
  • Experience briefing senior stakeholders or clients
  • Ability to operate in fast-moving, deadline-driven environments
