SparkPNT, a subsidiary of SparkFun Electronics, is dedicated to advancing Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technology. Since developing our first high-precision surveyor in 2020, SparkPNT has been on a mission to make cutting-edge PNT solutions accessible for precision applications. Our product line includes a range of surveying devices, reference stations, and timing solutions designed to deliver centimeter-level accuracy.
We're searching for a Geospatial Technical Specialist to join our team. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and like the idea of rolling up your sleeves, learning new skills, and tackling a wide variety of challenges, this role may be a match for you. You'llwork closely with our founder, not only supporting customers and solving technical problems, but also helping shape new products and business processes. In this startup environment, you'll wear many hats-engineering, customer support, documentation, and product development-all while having a direct impact on our growth and success.
SparkPNT's Next Geospatial Technical Specialist
This position will provide technical support from pre-sale technical discussions through post-sale implementation and troubleshooting. This role will also contribute to documentation, product feedback, subscriptions, and operational processes as the business grows.

Essential Job Functions
1. Technical Customer Support (primary role)
  • Provide pre-sales technical guidance to customers evaluating SparkPNT solutions
  • Support customers during integration, configuration, and deployment
  • Troubleshoot GNSS, RTK, and correction service issues
  • Assist customers with hardware setup, firmware updates, and system tuning
  • Help translate customer needs into technical solutions

2. Documentation and Education
  • Help customers and developers understand how to deploy SparkPNT solutions effectively
  • Develop and improve troubleshooting resources and tutorials
  • Develop use cases/case studies for various product applications

3. Product Feedback and Development
  • Provide feedback from real-world deployments to product and engineering teams
  • Help prioritize product improvements based on customer needs
  • Participate in testing new hardware and firmware
  • Assist with field testing and performance validation
  • Support product development, production, and testing as needed

4. Systems & Operations
  • Assist with subscription and service support as SparkPNT expands correction services
  • Help refine support workflows, onboarding processes, and customer success systems
  • Contribute to a collaborative startup culture where team members take on multiple roles as needed

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Background in geospatial engineering, geomatics, robotics, or related technical field
  • Experience working with GNSS, RTK, or positioning technologies
  • Familiarity with geospatial tools such as:
    • GIS platforms
    • Mapping tools
    • Correction services
    • GNSS configuration software
    • Preferred: experience with GIS data collecting software as listed here
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly
  • Comfort working directly with customers and developers
