Job description

The Registered Land Surveyor independently leads and delivers complex geomatics and land surveying projects supporting a wide range of infrastructure, development, and design initiatives. Based in Barge Design Solutions' Gwinnett office, this role partners closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, and other technical professionals to provide expert surveying guidance, innovative problem-solving, and high-quality project execution. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, sound professional judgment, and the ability to manage challenging projects while contributing to client satisfaction and overall project success.

  • Coordinates with various discipline leads on scheduling objectives and project milestones for various large-scale geomatics and surveying projects.
  • Approves a subset of more complex deliverables and surveys by analyzing reports, programming, client requirements, and other relevant information.
  • Signs and seals surveys, maps, and survey related documents.
  • Performs in-process quality review of survey field activities, legal descriptions, maps, area photographs, calculations, and other diverse types of project deliverables.
  • Performs complex calculations.
  • Acts as project specific lead for technical survey/ geomatics work of others.
  • Prepares computations and cost estimates using various software packages in order to validate various findings. Utilizes GIS software to collect data, attribute features, produce maps, etc.
  • Anticipates roadblocks and provides recommendations for resolution to ensure strong accuracy of survey work.
  • Communicates with clients pertaining to specific projects and attends client meetings.
  • Coordinates deliverables between clients, teaming partners, and other disciplines working on a project.
  • Participates as needed in project proposals.
  • Performs other duties as required.
