Job description

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) office in Washington, D.C. is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager (APM) interested in advancing their career in the Geotechnical and Construction Observation/ Material Testing Field. If you're passionate about ensuring quality and safety on high-impact builds, we want to hear from you.

Technical Skills

We are looking for people who have experience performing ANY of the following inspections.

  • In Place Nuclear Density Testing
  • Concrete/ Masonry Observation Sampling and Testing
  • Steel Reinforcement (REBAR) Inspections
  • Foundation Evaluation with Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) and Hand Probe
  • Subgrade Evaluations via Proofroll
  • Hot Mix and Warm Mix Asphalt (HMA/WMA) Inspections and Density Testing
  • Retaining Wall Observations
  • SFRM and Intumescent Fireproofing Sampling and Testing
  • Floor Levelness and Floor Flatness (FF/FL)
  • Structural Steel Inspections ICC Welding/ Bolting or CWI
  • Chemical Stabilization of Soils via Cement or Lime
  • Experience with soil stabilization, intermediate and deep foundation systems is a plus.
  • Experience with Stormwater BMP Critical Stage Inspections and Infiltration testing also a plus
  • Experience with carbonate assessment and sinkhole stabilization methods also a plus

Requirements

    • 2-5 Years of Construction Observation and Material Testing Experience
    • Degrees in Engineering, Geology and Construction Management Preferred
    • Engineer in Training (EIT), Geologist in Training (GIT) and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) a plus
    • Possess or have the ability to obtain ICC, NICET NECEPT and ACI certifications.
    • Own reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a satisfactory driving record
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship not available)
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Enjoy working outdoors
    • Ability to lift up to 60lbs unaided and up to 80lbs with assistance; frequent bending, hammering and other repetitious movements
    • Must have safety toe boots
