Patriot Engineering and Environmental is growing and is looking for Senior Project Geo Tech Engineers to join our talented and impactful team.  These opportunities are available in any of our offices in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky.

Career Opportunity

Patriot has an opening for entry level or experienced Senior Project Geo Tech Engineers.

This position will be part of a very skilled team that works closely with Geo Tech Practice Lead and other staff leading, managing and performing all aspects of geotechnical engineering projects to ensure highest quality of timely design solutions within scope and budget. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a growing and high performing team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for completing the project as per its contracted scope; monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones
  • Effectively communicate with the client and deliver work products to satisfaction of client.
  • Developing field exploration and laboratory testing plans for geotechnical engineering investigations
  • May be responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets and forecasts, and working with external vendors, subcontractors or contractors. Preparing proposals for geotechnical engineering services
  • Conducts meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project to project team and client. Coordinating/managing field investigations
  • Invoicing, preparing change orders, and collections.
  • Sampling and logging soils and rock during field investigations
  • Research, engineering analysis and preparation of geotechnical engineering reports
  • Tracking budgets and schedule to ensure project requirements are met
  • Review of foundation plans and grading plans for conformance with geotechnical engineering investigation reports
  • Collaborating with various other consultants including civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, and construction managers
  • Understanding and working familiarity with computer programs, geotechnical engineering software and databases as required
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • Professional Engineer, PE
  • BS in Civil Engineering. MS with a Geotechnical Engineering focus strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Educational emphasis on Soils Mechanics, Foundations, Geotechnical Engineering and Civil Engineering
  • Professional level written, and oral communications skills are necessary
  • Critical thinking and judgment skills
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, learn and communicate at highest levels.
