Position Overview

Gentle Care Physical Therapy Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this integral role, you will evaluate, plan, and implement personalized treatment programs for patients recovering from orthopedic injuries and conditions, all while delivering exceptional care tailored to each individual’s needs.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility that is designed to foster healing and recovery. With a collaborative and nurturing atmosphere, our physical therapy team works together to maximize patient outcomes while contributing to a positive work culture. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from either 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, providing a balanced work schedule that supports both professional development and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients referred by physicians, gathering important medical histories and understanding their specific conditions.
  • Develop customized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices, align with physician directives, and are designed to achieve optimal recovery outcomes.
  • Utilize a wide array of therapeutic modalities, manual techniques, and exercise regimens tailored to individual patient needs, demonstrating expertise particularly in orthopedic cases.
  • Maintain careful documentation of patient progress and treatment effectiveness, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices in physical therapy.
  • Engage in active communication with patients and their families, educating them about treatment goals, home exercise programs, and recovery resources.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, sharing insights about patient progress and engaging in continuous improvement measures to refine treatment protocols.
  • Contribute to achieving clinic goals by meeting productivity benchmarks without compromising quality of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your patient interactions will primarily focus on individuals dealing with orthopedic conditions including post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. In addition, you may occasionally work with pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine patients, ensuring a well-rounded clinical experience that enhances your professional growth.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
  • A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a physical therapist in a clinical setting, particularly with orthopedic cases.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and proficient in word processing and other computer applications relevant to patient management.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a private practice environment, contributing to a patient-centered care model.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
