Principal Responsibility

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Dining Room Community Manager, the Program Coordinator provides administrative and instructional support for all areas of the Tenderloin Technology Lab (TTL). The TTL offers direct services to homeless and low-income adults as well as other nonprofit providers through classroom instruction, one-on-one tutorials, self-paced tutorials, a drop-in computer lab, and other related projects. The Program Coordinator must demonstrate performance by adhering to established policies and procedures exhibiting the defined characteristics associated with attendance and punctuality.

Major Duties
  • Maintain a calm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere for clients who are in the program.
  • Responsible for operation of front desk: answer phone and front door inquiries, schedule appointments for clients and staff; interact with all clients of the program.
  • Initial troubleshooting for the drop-in lab and classroom.
  • Maintain Efforts to Outcomes in Salesforce database.
  • Assist Manager in the overall coordination of the Tech Lab volunteer program including recruitment, orientation, training, and scheduling of volunteers for the Tech Lab.
  • Maintain the volunteer database (Salesforce), other files and volunteer program systems.
  • Attends and participates in relevant meetings: SAF Volunteer Coordination, Tech Lab Staff meeting, Direct Service Providers, Foundation-wide, etc.
  • Perform outreach, correspond, and maintain relations with other organizations.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of special events, including Tech Fairs, holiday parties, workshops, and community activities.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of new technology initiatives in collaboration with external partner organizations.
  • Research, develop, and implement special projects, workshops, and events independently.
  • Manage office supply inventory and ordering for the Tech Lab.
  • Provide administrative support for inventory of office supplies.
  • Perform basic case management and referrals for TTL clients.
  • Assist and work with all members of the TTL in furthering the goals of the program.
  • Provide general support to the work unit as directed; working as a part of the TTL team, knowing your presence is an essential function for the team to be successful.
  • Adhere to the guidelines of the SAF Safety Program.
  • Comply with SAF goals and the SAF Statement of Values.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-4years related work experience, preferably in a social service setting.
  • AA/BA or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience using an integrated database.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; strong crisis and conflict de-escalation skills.
  • Bi-lingual preferred (English/Spanish).
  • Experience or ability working with diverse and low-income populations.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Photoshop, social media, and Salesforce
  • Ability to train clients in basic computer skills, including internet and email.
  • Familiarity with maintaining a computer network.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to be polite, tactful, and firm with program participants.
  • Excellent work habits: punctual, reliable, cooperative, and team-oriented.
