Job Details

ChristianaCare is hiring for an Advanced Practice Clinician (Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to work in our School Based Health Center at Shortlidge (Evan G.) Academy Elementary School for 24 hours per week x 42 weeks. This position is available immediately through the end of the school year and will resume following summer break.

The selected candidate provides physical examinations, health screenings, treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, immunizations, reproductive health,and health education to adolescent students and works closely with the school nurse to treat students and keep them in school. The APC works with a multidisciplinary staff at the center to address critical issues that teens face guiding them towards productive and healthy lives and in doing so improving the health of our communities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides preventive and acute health care to the adolescent population.

Maintains a collaborative agreement with the Medical Director and consults and refers as necessary.

Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to assess, diagnose and treat an adolescent patient.

Prescribes medications and treatments independently as credentialed by the Joint Practice Committee of Delaware Board of Medicine.

Provides clinical screening for risk taking behavior and mental health issues and directs services as appropriate.

Collaborates plan of care with the primary care provider as necessary.

Provides care management for individual student as necessary.

Sees 10 - 12 students per day when school is in session.

Maintains medical records according to HIPPA guidelines and third-party billing guidelines.

Maintains medical equipment and supplies including ordering supplies, monitoring refrigerator temperature, performing equipment checks, monitoring medication expiration dates, maintaining logs.

Responsible for transport of lab specimens to State Lab, track labs and treat and manage patients accordingly.

Follows CCHS Chaperone Policy- Outpatient.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Nursing with Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner or Master's degree in PA studies.

Experience with adolescents and reproductive health preferred

Licensed or eligible for license in the state of Delaware

Prescriptive authority

Valid driver's license required

Annual Compensation Range $112,765.00 - $147,511.00This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
