Governors Avenue Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant.

What you will do:
  • Welcome patients and clients, assist with patient intake, and help ensure a smooth and compassionate care experience.
  • Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostic procedures, including sample collection, laboratory testing, radiology, and patient monitoring.
  • Assist with patient restraint, catheter placement, oxygen therapy, and other medical procedures as directed.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas, exam rooms, and equipment to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Provide attentive inpatient and outpatient care, ensuring patient comfort, cleanliness, and well-being throughout their stay.
  • Participate in patient rounds and communicate effectively with the medical team to support continuity of care.
  • Develop advanced clinical skills through structured training opportunities, including imaging, lab work, and other specialized procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and follow hospital protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment focused on exceptional patient and client service.
  • Additional duties will be assigned as needed
