Job description

Job Title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) – Nights
Location: Zanesville, OH (Genesis Healthcare System)
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3x12s (36 hrs/week)
Start Dates: May 18, 2026 or June 15, 2026
Job Type: Contract (Quick Start)


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health RN for a 13-week assignment at an inpatient psychiatric facility. The RN will primarily care for adult patients, with some adolescent population, and must be comfortable working in a charge role when needed.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and progress
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
  • Manage crisis situations and support de-escalation
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary care teams
  • Perform charge nurse duties as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR

Requirements
  • Active Ohio RN License (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Prior Behavioral Health experience (Preferred)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training (Preferred)
  • Experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems
  • Willingness to work charge role

Schedule & Additional Requirements
  • 3x12-hour night shifts (7P–7A)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • Additional 24 hours of on-call over a 6-week period
