This full-time position focuses on providing high-quality telehealth counseling services, particularly to the senior population. • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, evaluating their emotional and psychological needs to create tailored care plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions that specifically address grief, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges related to aging.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to design and implement holistic care strategies that facilitate comprehensive support for geriatric residents.
• Educate family members and caregivers on mental health strategies that can improve the emotional well-being and quality of life of elderly clients.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions to aid seniors and their families in coping with the end-of-life issues and the associated emotional turmoil.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all interactions and treatment plans, leveraging telehealth platforms to maintain seamless communication with clients.

This role centers on counseling the senior population, specifically those grappling with significant life transitions, loss, and age-related mental health issues. You will engage with clients facing unique challenges such as retirement, loneliness, and chronic health conditions, employing empathy and tailored therapeutic techniques to guide them through their experiences.

• A master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation.
• A minimum of two years of direct experience in geriatric mental health counseling or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients and their families.
• Proficiency in utilizing telehealth technology and electronic health records (EHR) for client management and documentation.

• Experience in addiction counseling as it relates to elderly patients, addressing substance use issues among this demographic.
• Familiarity with integrative therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices tailored for seniors.
• Background in conducting workshops or educational seminars for caregivers and family members on mental health awareness for the elderly.
