Job description

Product Specialist - MQ Power Division

Full-Time Non-Exempt Hybrid-Remote-(Cypress) 

Multiquip is seeking a highly technical and customerfocused Product Specialist - Power Equipment to serve as the primary product expert for MQ Power's mobile diesel generator portfolio and related industrial power products. In this highimpact role, you'll provide indepth product knowledge and support to customers, dealers, engineers, service centers, parts teams, and internal stakeholders-both presale and throughout the ownership lifecycle.

This role is focused on the product itself-specifications, configurations, documentation, applications, and issue resolution-while partnering closely with Technical Support, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Parts, and Service teams. You will also play a critical role in coordinating Customized Product Requests (CPRs) and driving a high level of customer ownership satisfaction. What You'll Do

Product Expertise & Technical Support

  • Serve as the goto product authority for MQ Power mobile diesel generators and related industrial power products.
  • Research and interpret product documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical data to provide accurate and timely responses to customers, dealers, and internal teams.
  • Maintain expertlevel knowledge of the MQ Power portfolio, including:
    • Denyo / DMC Generators
    • Studio Generators
    • Portable Generators
    • Container Generators
    • MQ Acecube fuel tanks
    • Refurbished Generators and related systems
  • Support new product introductions, internal training, and organizationwide knowledge sharing.

Product Issue & Case Management

  • Own product issue tracking and case management for key customer accounts.
  • Investigate issues thoroughly and ensure timely resolution and followthrough.
  • Document findings, updates, and outcomes clearly and consistently using Jira or similar systems.
  • Identify recurring product or application trends and proactively provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering to drive continuous improvement.

Customized Product Request (CPR) Coordination

  • Lead and coordinate the Customized Product Request (CPR) workflow.
  • Partner with Sales and Engineering to define scope, support quoting, and execute custom generator solutions efficiently.
  • Track progress, align stakeholders, and help remove roadblocks to keep CPRs moving forward.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Serve as a primary liaison between Product Management, Engineering, Technical Support, Parts, Service, and Sales teams.
  • Provide regular updates on product changes, known issues, resolutions, and status to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department and organization.

What You Bring

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product support, customer coordination, applications engineering, or a related role within:
    • Power generation
    • Industrial machinery
    • Heavy equipment industries

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong practical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with mobile diesel generators or similar industrial power equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and product specifications.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong investigative mindset with genuine curiosity about how mechanical and electrical systems work.
  • Comfortable collaborating across departments to resolve complex product issues.

Systems & Tools

  • Experience actively using Jira or similar project, task, or issuetracking platforms.
  • Working knowledge of CRM, ERP, or related systems is a plus.
