Job description

Quanta Power Solutions brings together the industry-leading capabilities and resources of Quanta's operating companies to deliver complete EPC solutions. Our integrated approach spans power generation, battery energy storage, renewables, transmission, substation, and underground infrastructure — from concept to commissioning, we execute complex power infrastructure projects with the speed, certainty, and operational excellence our customers depend on.

At Quanta Power Solutions, we are driven by a culture of safety, integrity, and disciplined execution — and we're building a team that shares that commitment.

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Designer IV to lead advanced electrical design efforts for large-scale power generation, renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), data centers, substations, transmission, and industrial infrastructure projects. This senior-level design role is responsible for driving complex 3D modeling and electrical design execution, coordinating multidisciplinary deliverables, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, constructible EPC design packages.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive industrial and utility design experience, strong leadership within design teams, and the ability to independently manage and guide complex electrical design scopes from conceptual development through construction and commissioning.

  • Prepare, review, and coordinate:
  • Single-line diagrams (SLDs) and system schematics
  • Electrical distribution and layout drawings
  • Conduit, cable tray, and routing plans
  • Grounding, bonding, and lightning protection systems
  • Lighting and power design layouts
  • Equipment arrangement and installation drawings
    • Provide advanced design support for systems including:
  • Medium and low voltage distribution systems
  • Motor control centers (MCCs) and switchgear
  • Substation interface systems
  • Emergency power and generator systems
  • Balance of Plant (BOP) electrical systems
    • Ensure all designs are accurate, constructible, and compliant with project specifications and industry standards.

3D Modeling & BIM Coordination

  • Lead development and oversight of complex electrical 3D models for EPC projects.
  • Manage model coordination, clash detection, and resolution efforts.
  • Ensure integration of vendor equipment models and multidisciplinary design alignment.
  • Maintain BIM standards and ensure consistency across project deliverables.
  • Lead model review sessions with engineering, construction, and project teams.

Project Execution & Technical Oversight

  • Independently execute and manage complex electrical design scopes through conceptual design, detailed engineering, and construction phases.
  • Oversee development of material take-offs (MTOs), quantity estimates, and construction packages.
  • Support project planning, sequencing, and execution strategies.
  • Review and validate engineering deliverables prior to issuance.
  • Ensure alignment with project schedule, scope, and constructability requirements.

Multidisciplinary Coordination

  • Coordinate electrical design efforts with civil, structural, mechanical, process, and instrumentation teams.
  • Lead interdisciplinary design coordination meetings and technical workshops.
