Job description

We are seeking an experienced Foam Roofing Applicator / Crew Lead to join our growing team. This position will lead a crew applying closed-cell spray polyurethane foam roofing and insulation systems on both commercial and residential projects.
 
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating foam spray rigs, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure high-quality installation of insulation, foam and coating systems. This role requires strong leadership in the field, attention to safety, and the ability to maintain consistent production and quality standards.
 
The Foam Roofing Applicator / Crew Lead will be responsible for managing daily jobsite operations, directing crew members, operating spray equipment, and ensuring each project meets company and manufacturer standards.
 
Key Responsibilities

•  Operate spray foam roofing rigs and apply closed-cell polyurethane foam systems on commercial and residential roofs.
•  Lead and direct crews to complete projects efficiently and safely.
•  Troubleshoot and maintain foam equipment, proportioners, hoses, spray guns, hydraulics, generator, coating pumps, and truck. 
•  Install Z-bar, roof flashings, scuppers, and other necessary components as part of coating projects.
•  Prepare roof surfaces including cleaning, masking, priming, and repairs prior to foam application.
•  Monitor foam thickness, coverage, and overall application quality.
•  Apply protective roof coatings such as elastomeric or silicone over foam systems.
•  Coordinate material usage and ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals and equipment.
•  Communicate with supervisors and project managers regarding job progress and site conditions.
•  Maintain job-site safety standards and ensure all crew members follow company safety protocols.
•  Assist with equipment maintenance and ensure rigs, trucks, and trailers are kept clean and operational.
•  Train and mentor newer crew members in foam roofing techniques and safety procedures.
•  Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and job progress.

Requirements

•  Proven experience applying spray polyurethane foam roofing systems.
•  Strong understanding of foam rig operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
•  Experience leading roofing crews in commercial or residential environments.
•  Ability to operate spray equipment safely and efficiently.
•  Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and materials.
•  Physical capability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment as required.
•  Ability to work outdoors and in high heat environments.
•  Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
•  Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
 
Preferred Qualifications

•  Certification or training in coatings application, equipment operation, or related field.
•  CDL License a plus
•  Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
•  Experience with large commercial roofing projects
•  Familiarity with different types of roofing systems and materials.
•  Experience operating foam spray rigs, generators, and related roofing equipment
