A Residential Generator Installer is responsible for expertly installing, maintaining, and servicing backup generators for residential properties. This role involves working with electrical systems, ensuring proper generator functionality, and providing homeowners with a reliable source of backup power during outages. The Residential Generator Installer collaborates with clients, project managers, and team members to deliver seamless generator installations that prioritize safety and client satisfaction.Work Location & Schedule:

Team members typically begin their workday by arriving at the warehouse around 6:30 AM to prepare for the day. This includes reviewing job assignments, loading materials and equipment, confirming project details, and ensuring all necessary tools and safety gear are ready.
After morning preparation, crews travel in company vehicles to scheduled job sites to complete installations and service work. Workdays may vary depending on project scope and customer needs, but punctuality and preparedness are essential to maintaining our high standards of service and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation: Skillfully install residential backup generators in compliance with manufacturer specifications, local electrical codes, and safety guidelines.
  • Site Assessment: Conduct thorough on-site assessments to determine the most suitable location for the generator, considering factors such as proximity to the main electrical panel, noise considerations, fuel sources, and proper ventilation.
  • Electrical Connections: Connect the generator to the main electrical panel through an automatic transfer switch (ATS) or manual transfer switch, ensuring correct wiring, load balancing, and circuit protection.
  • Mechanical Assembly: Assemble and install generator components, including engines, alternators, exhaust systems, and fuel systems, following manufacturer guidelines and best practices.
  • Fuel Source Integration: Integrate the generator with the appropriate fuel source, such as natural gas lines or propane tanks, and ensure efficient fuel delivery to the generator system.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Thoroughly test and commission the generator to ensure it functions reliably, automatically starts during power outages, and supplies the required power to essential circuits.
  • Client Education: Educate homeowners about the generator's operation, maintenance requirements, and emergency procedures. Address any client inquiries and concerns regarding the system.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, repairs, and client interactions. Complete necessary paperwork and reports for both clients and internal use.
