Job Overview
Seeking an experienced Mainframe System Automation Specialist to manage, maintain, and enhance automation for mainframe systems, including z/OS environments and CA OPS/MVS. The role involves migration projects, developing automated solutions, and supporting critical infrastructure activities while ensuring high availability and operational efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Expertise in Mainframe System Automation tools, including IBM SA z/OS and CA OPS/MVS.
  • Support migration projects between CA-OPS/MVS and IBM System Automation.
  • Develop and deploy automated solutions to reduce manual intervention, including automated IPLs, application recovery, and auto ticket generation.
  • Maintain and support automation applications through upgrades, maintenance activities, z/OS upgrades, data center consolidations, and CPU refreshes.
  • Transform client automation code to standard toolsets and support multiple complexes/LPARs.
  • Implement and support infrastructure critical event management, remote console access, and paging.
  • Perform feasibility studies and recommend mainframe automation solutions across all mainframe environments.
  • Support 24/7 automation on-call rotations for multiple customers.
  • Analyze issues, perform diagnostics, and root cause analysis (RCA) while adhering to ITIL processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing analytical support and clear communication.

Required Technical Skills

  • Experience with mainframe migration projects.
  • Understanding of infrastructure restore processes during DR activities and tests.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in mainframe automation and administration.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and supporting z/OS systems.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and procedures.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
