Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Gilbert, Arizona. You will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and high-quality care to critically injured patients .

  • Provide care to general surgery and trauma patients at level 3/4 trauma hospital. Volume expansion.
  • Currently 12 hour shifts. Night shifts are in discussion and could be a possibility as the service line grows/gets busier. Hours will vary depending on growth and shifts. Right now, shifts are thirteen 12 hour shifts per month 6a-6p. Discussing a swing shift of Noon - Midnight and possible overnight shifts. Lots of growth opportunities at this location. Need some flexibility with schedules as the service line grows.
  • Clinic would rotate 1 APP per week for 4 hours to cover post op appts.
  • Rotate APP clinic with the other APPs to see post op patients and be available to assist with triage as needed if clinic MAs reach out.
  • New General Surgery consults if Surgeon is not onsite and responding to trauma activations in the ED.
  • Procedures - B edside only, surgeon takes resident into OR with them.
  • No call - follow shifts as listed above

Job Requirements

PA Requirements:

  • Degree as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant.
  • Valid DEA registration.
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
  • General Surgery experience and ED experience a plus

NP Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Graduate of accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
  • Compact state or Arizona RN license
  • Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license
  • Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.) NP-AANP, c.) NP-ANCC
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
  • General Surgery experience and ED experience a plus=
