Job description

Job Title: General Production WorkerJob Description

This role is responsible for the daily manufacturing of chemical products in a production environment by following established operating procedures and meeting schedule demands. The general production worker transports and charges raw materials into machines, operates production equipment, monitors and tests products, and prepares finished goods for staging and shipment. The position also includes cleaning and maintaining equipment and the work area, and supporting other production areas as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture chemical products daily in accordance with written production operating procedures and schedule requirements.
  • Transport raw materials from the staged warehouse area to the charging room using a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Suspend large tote bags of powder with an overhead crane and charge raw materials into processing vessels for planarization, homogenization, and other production steps.
  • Follow operating procedures for charging, planarization, sampling, homogenization, filtering, and packaging of products.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure products meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Test, sample, and measure products according to established procedures and specifications for scheduled products.
  • Prepare packaging containers and product for final staging in the warehouse or for outbound deliveries.
  • Clean and maintain the work area daily, including floors, tables, walls, and equipment, to support a safe and orderly production environment.
  • Operate general production and material handling equipment such as machines, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools as needed.
  • Assist in other production areas as required to meet overall production needs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members on the same shift and across other shifts to coordinate processes and complete production according to schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working in a production, assembly, or general labor environment.
  • Ability to operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack to move raw materials and finished products.
  • Experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and staging materials.
  • Capability to follow detailed written operating procedures and production schedules.
  • Ability to perform product testing, sampling, and measurement according to established procedures.
  • Comfort working with packaging processes and preparing products and containers for staging and shipment.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members across shifts.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, loading, and working around large production equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in general production or chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with machine operation and machine setup in a production setting.
  • Experience with cleaning production equipment and maintaining safe working conditions.
  • Comfort working around overhead cranes and large mixing machines.
  • Willingness to cross-train and work in different production areas as needed.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
