Job description

This position is hiring for 3rd shift Friday-Sunday 12-hour shifts (hours yet to be determined).

Description:
As a Press Brake Operator, you will form sheet metal by applying appropriate sheet metal techniques and functions to conform to customer specifications. Review instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works with little supervision.
Job Duties/Responsibilities May Include, but Not Limited To:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or program specifications to determine sequence of bends and methods of fabricating.
  • Must understand the different types of brake tooling and how it is to be used.
  • Follow brake set up sheets to position and align tooling per specifications for simple parts (less than 4 bends).
  • Adjust part program to meet print specifications to correct tolerances.
  • Must be able to meet brake set and run efficiency rates.
  • Perform in-process inspections for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers and squares to meet or exceed fabrication standards.
  • Ability to read and comprehend job traveler instructions as well as any special instructions.
  • Meet production rates as they are set.
  • Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to assist with โ€œon-the-jobโ€ training.
  • Comply with all appropriate quality standards and fully support the ISO Program.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination and Standard Work.
  • Comply with OSHA Requirements, Safety, Good Housekeeping and 5S Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications / Education / Experience:
Required Qualifications:
  • GED/Diploma or previous experience operating sheet metal equipment or combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics.
  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret blueprints and/or product specifications.
  • Must be proficient in using measuring equipment: vernier, digital and dial caliper and squares.
  • Must be able to hold a tolerance of +/- .015.
  • Requires lifting sheet metal parts up to 50 lbs. and up to 96โ€ frequently.
  • Requires repetitive movement, bending or twisting, walking and standing.
  • Experience with operation of Forklift or willing to learn to operate a forklift.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft office, AutoCAD, and other programs that relate to fabrication.
  • Good work ethics, detail-oriented and willing to learn.
  • Initiative, motivation, punctual and self-driven.
  • Ability to work OT when required including weekends.
