Established Design-Build Remodeling Company General Manager - Residential Remodeling

Location: Kitsap County, WA. This is a full-time, primarily on-site position based in Kitsap County, Washington, with regular travel to project sites throughout Kitsap County and occasional travel elsewhere in the Kitsap County region. This is not a remote position.

Lead the Business. Build the Team. Drive the Next Stage of Growth.

Contractor Staffing Source is conducting a confidential search on behalf of an established residential design-build remodeling company based in Poulsbo, Washington. We're seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its daily operations and help guide the business through its next stage of growth.

The company specializes in high-quality residential remodeling and currently focuses on interior remodels and renovations. With an established team, a strong local presence, and plans to expand into larger remodels, additions, and future custom home projects, this is an opportunity to play a central role in shaping the company's future.

The General Manager will oversee the company's daily operations, financial performance, sales, project delivery, team development, and client experience. This is a hands-on executive leadership position for someone who can operate with an owner's mindset, take responsibility for results, and create the structure needed to scale the business.

The right candidate will have significant autonomy to improve systems, develop the team, strengthen operations, and help grow the company into a larger, multi-department organization.

This position is well suited to an experienced residential construction or design-build leader who wants more than a traditional management role and is motivated by the opportunity to have a direct stake in the company's long-term performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the company's day-to-day operations and take ownership of overall business performance.
  • Manage financial results, including budgeting, forecasting, job costing, margins, cash flow awareness, and operational reporting.
  • Report company performance, challenges, and growth opportunities to ownership on a regular basis.
  • Lead or closely oversee in-home consultations, estimating, proposal development, sales presentations, and project handoffs.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, referral relationships, and growth channels.
  • Hire, coach, manage, and hold team members accountable as the organization grows.
  • Oversee project managers, superintendents, field crews, administrative support, designers, and trade partners.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to established quality standards.
  • Oversee the preconstruction process, including permits, engineering coordination, selections, procurement, scheduling, and construction readiness.
  • Maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships while protecting project margins and delivery timelines.
  • Improve internal systems, communication, organization, and accountability across the company.
  • Provide a professional and consistent client experience from the initial consultation through project completion.
  • Help execute a long-term strategy to expand the company's project scope, capabilities, revenue, and market presence.
Qualifications
  • At least seven years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, custom homes, or design-build operations.
  • Previous experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, senior Project Manager, Project Executive, or similar construction leader.
  • Proven experience managing multiple residential construction projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end project delivery, including sales, estimating, preconstruction, procurement, scheduling, field operations, and closeout.
  • Demonstrated experience hiring, managing, developing, and holding employees and subcontractors accountable.
  • Strong background in business development, consultative sales, estimating, and client relationship management.
  • Strong financial literacy, including job costing, budgeting, margin management, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Experience with large-scale remodels, additions, or custom home construction is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable making decisions and operating with a high degree of independence and accountability.
  • Experience using residential construction management software, such as JobTread, is preferred.
  • Experience working within Washington contractor-registration and residential construction requirements is preferred.
  • Must be based in or willing to commute to the Kitsap County area.
Compensation
  • Full-time, W-2 Employment
  • Base salary of $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Eligible for an annual performance bonus based on written operational, profitability, and project-delivery goals
  • Health insurance benefits.
  • Long-term advancement potential, which may include expanded executive responsibilities and a performance-based incentive arrangement.
  • Significant autonomy and decision-making authority.
  • Opportunity to help build the company's leadership team, operating systems, and future direction.
Why Join This Company?

This is an opportunity to do more than manage construction projects; you will help lead and grow an established residential remodeling business. You will have the authority to improve operations, develop the team, expand the company's capabilities, and directly influence its financial performance. This position is ideal for an entrepreneurial construction leader who wants meaningful autonomy, performance-based earning potential, and the opportunity to build something lasting.
