Job description

Description:

CamFit is a multi-studio Orangetheory Fitness franchisee committed to delivering a world-class fitness experience through science-backed, heart rate-based interval training. In 60 minutes, our members reach their optimal heart rate zones, burn calories, and build a stronger, healthier life. Every role at CamFit is a role in changing lives.

We are a people-first organization. We hire for energy, develop for excellence, and promote from within.

JOB SUMMARY

As General Manager you carry the full scope of both the fitness and sales functions. You lead the coaching team, own sales performance, manage studio operations, drive membership growth, and create a culture that members and staff want to be part of. You report directly to the Regional Business Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coaching Excellence and Class Delivery
  • Maintain a personal coaching minimum of 15 classes per week. You may be asked to flex up based on coach availability and studio scheduling needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, high-energy OTF classes in alignment with brand standards.
  • Own the overall quality of every class delivered in the studio.
  • Monitor safety, form, heart rate zones, and member engagement in all sessions.

Intro Class Execution and Membership Conversion

  • Every first-time member must receive a personalized intro experience before or after their first class.
  • Deliver a membership prescription based on each prospective member's stated goals, schedule, and lifestyle, connecting those needs directly to the appropriate membership type offered.
  • Always close the conversation with a clear, confident recommendation and an invitation to join.
  • Track intro class completion and follow-up. Hold yourself accountable to conversion as a performance metric, not a sales task.

Sales Leadership and Revenue Performance

  • Own studio revenue performance including new memberships, renewals, and retail.
  • Execute lead generation strategies, community outreach, and in-studio marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the full sales process from inquiry to signed membership.
  • Provide weekly KPI reporting to the Regional Business Manager.

Coach Development and Team Leadership

  • Lead, manage, and develop the full coaching team.
  • Build and maintain the coaching schedule using MindBody Online.
  • Conduct regular coach check-ins, class observations, and performance conversations.
  • Partner with the RFTM on formal evaluations, certification readiness, and development plans.
  • Lead onboarding and training for all new coaches.
  • Manage coach payroll and timecard accuracy.

Sales Associate Leadership

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop sales associates.
  • Hold sales associates accountable to daily and weekly performance targets.
  • Manage front-of-house culture and ensure a consistent, high-quality member experience.
  • Conduct sales associate payroll review, timecard accuracy and processing.

Community Building and Studio Culture

  • Build a studio community that members talk about, one where people come for the workout and stay for the people.
  • Create regular touchpoints with members beyond class: recognition, milestone celebrations, challenges, and events that deepen engagement and loyalty.
  • Model the energy and culture you want to see. The tone of the studio starts with you.

Talent Pipeline and Team Building

  • Actively recruit coaches and sales associates from within the member base. The best candidates already believe in what we do.
  • Personally invite high-potential members to consider a role at CamFit. Do not wait for applications, go find the talent.
  • Support interested members in pursuing an approved fitness certification. Know the pathway and be able to walk someone through it.
  • Maintain an ongoing pipeline of qualified candidates so the studio is never in a position of hiring out of desperation.
  • Keeping the studio fully and excellently staffed is a leadership responsibility, not an HR function.

Studio Cleanliness Standards

  • Maintain a second-to-none cleanliness standard across all areas of the studio at all times, including the fitness floor, lobby, locker rooms, restrooms, and back-of-house areas.
  • Cleanliness is not a task assigned to one role. Every team member is responsible for upholding the standard on every shift.
  • Address cleanliness issues immediately and do not wait for a scheduled cleaning cycle to correct them.

Facilities, Repairs, and Preventative Maintenance

  • Report all repair and maintenance needs through the company's facilities ticketing system promptly. Do not allow outstanding issues to linger without a ticket in the system.
  • Follow up on open maintenance tickets to ensure timely resolution. Unresolved items are your accountability until they are closed.
  • Execute and document all monthly preventative maintenance standards for your studio on schedule.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment and facility systems so you can identify issues before they become outages.

Studio Operations

  • Own all aspects of studio operations including scheduling and overall studio readiness.
  • Manage class reconciliation including attendance and late cancels.
  • Manage studio budgets including payroll, inventory, and cost controls.
  • Ensure compliance with all brand, safety, and operational standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current nationally recognized fitness certification from an OTF-approved provider (e.g., ACSM, ACE PT/GFI, NASM, NSCA, AFAA PT/GFI)
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • OTF Coach certification or ability to obtain
  • 2-3 years of coaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operations and lead a team
  • Strong sales acumen and comfort managing revenue performance
  • Flexible schedule availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in a studio management or head coach role
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Business, or related field
  • Familiarity with MindBody Online or similar scheduling/CRM systems

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive base compensation
  • Company incentive programs that evolve with business needs; eligible team members are recognized when the business performs
  • Major medical, dental, and vision benefits for full-time employees
  • Long-term and short-term disability insurance and life insurance options
  • Complimentary Orangetheory Fitness membership
  • Employee discounts on apparel and retail
  • A clear path to advancement within a growing franchise network

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to actively demonstrate and perform all exercises throughout each class
  • Ability to remain standing and vocal for the duration of a 60-minute workout
  • Must be able to lift, move, and demonstrate use of all studio equipment including treadmills, rowers, dumbbells, TRX systems, medicine balls, Bosu balls, and ab dollies
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs

SCHEDULE

  • Perform all duties on-site. Remote work is not available for this role.
  • Full-time role requiring flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Studio hours of operation drive the schedule; this is not a standard 9-to-5 role
