Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Modular Construction Project Planner resides in the Aftermarket Services Department and reports to the Director - Construction Solutions. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the coordination aspects of TAS Installation and Construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, forecasting, scheduling and reporting to the Finance Department. This role works closely with Aftermarket Service Leadership, Construction Site Managers, TAS Project Managers, Purchasing, Finance and other stakeholders to monitor installation and construction project budgets, and support strategic decision-making to ensure these projects are delivered on time and within budget.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, monitor, and update Installation and Construction project budgets ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client contracts
  • Develop and maintain project schedules for each Installation/Construction Site
  • Work with Installation/Construction Project Controller in the Finance department to maintain project milestone billing schedule
  • Work with Finance team to prepare customer's Application for Payment, aligned with milestone billing schedule
  • Collaborate with Site Managers and TAS Project Managers to generate ETCs (Estimate to Complete), EACs (Estimate at Completion), and risk profiles
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, contract requirements, and company policies related to project cost and schedule reporting
  • Coordinate and compile input from site construction teams for financial and progress reporting and coordinate with Installation/Construction Project Controller
  • Minimize company commercial risk through diligent schedule and cost oversight for major installation and construction projects
  • Represent Construction Solutions Team in all monthly project review meetings
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by TAS

JOB SKILLS:

  • Proven experience with P6, MS Project, Procor or AutoDesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite of tools.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, project management or related field or proven experience in construction project planning and cost controls.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in project Controls and Planning within a construction environment
  • 10+ years' experience in a construction environment
  • Advanced MS Office and various scheduling software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • On site construction experience with modular equipment installation
  • Professional certification (e.g. PMP, CPA, or equivalent)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position is at least 70% to 90% at a desk working with computer with occasional travel to installation sites. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
