Perform support and learn from senior leader in a McLane Restaurant division with the goal to take on the responsibility of a General Manager role and have their own division within one year. Learn to be responsible for providing strategic leadership in the development and implementation of overall business practices, financial performance, operational compliance, customer satisfaction, teammate development, and growth of a Restaurant field operating unit. Lead various departments, manage senior level projects, and have the delegation of the General Manager during his or her absence or while working on their own special projects.

What you'll do as a General Manager Designate I:
  • Take previous operational and distribution facility leadership practices and experiences and translate/adapt those best practices to McLane's culture, policies, and operations.
  • Move through an informal training process that will require flexibility, ingenuity, leadership, and managerial courage. Shadow another senior leader and lead various special projects and the entire facility at times.
  • Employ business development strategies which drive key performance indicators.
  • Ensure that optimum levels of operating performance are always achieved.
  • Develop an annual operating plan, establish meaningful performance targets, and formulate strategies to achieve success.
  • Establish and cultivate customer relationships within the McLane division, leadership team, and corporate staff. Work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
  • Invigorate the staff to perform at optimal levels, take an active role in issue resolution, promote the 'Open Door' policy and safety in the workplace, and establish McLane as a great place to work.
  • Develop teammates, document succession planning, maintain open communication, and ease of access in the workplace. Promote collaboration and teamwork.
  • Provide leadership and create a climate that fosters personal investment and excellence. Manage and empower direct reports.
  • Encourage open dialog by promoting and encouraging the free flow of information throughout the organization.
  • Maintain high standards of integrity and integrate the McLane culture throughout the organization. Support and enforce company policies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a General Manager Designate I:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.10 years of progressive distribution center and transportation leadership experience to include but not limited to P and L, logistics, supply chain and general management.
  • Three or more years' experience as the top/senior leader with overall responsibility of a warehouse, storage, or transportation operation highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the industry, customer needs and the ability to guide and develop the entire business direction such that the financial results continue to improve year over year.
  • Expertise in the legal and governmental regulations required to do business within this industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Superior trouble shooting, analysis and decision-making skills paramount.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
