Salary Range: $180,000.00 To $200,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

We areseeking an experienced television General Manager to lead and manage the WICS/WICDstationsacross the Springfield and Champaigne DMA. This candidate should see the world from a unique perspective, guiding the stations into the future with innovative vision. The right fit for this position will be an experienced and knowledgeable professional who is a driven advocate of local broadcasting and digital service to the community. The General Manager will have full oversight over the station’s operations including managing budgets, overseeing digital and social media assets, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead as both General Manager and General Sales Manager across the DMA.
  • Manage the financial performance and operations of the stations with a focus on operational efficiencies.
  • Achieve budgeted financial goals and grow the Station’s revenue share and programming performance.
  • Help increase the Station’s viewing audience by serving the interests of the community.
  • Protect the Station’s license through disciplined adherence to the FCC rules and regulations.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate all Station personnel to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
  • Promote a collaborative culture within all station departments.
  • Collaborate with department heads and staff members.
  • Provide visionary leadership to ensure the station and its news operation are prepared for the future of media.
  • Offer strategic support to newsroom leadership to strengthen storytelling and community connection while driving continued growth as audience behaviors shift.

Experience and qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in a similar role in a TV station or in a senior television management role
  • Proven skill sets and extensive experience in leading broadcast operational teams within sales-driven organizations, including a strong understanding of advanced digital ad solutions, and new business development
  • Strong background in creating locally originated content for multiple platforms (OTT, linear, web, social), driving audience engagement, and increasing overall reach
  • Proven track record of managing high-performing sales and news teams
