Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in directing the daily operations of their Andyโ€™s store in support of the Mission, Values and Culture while role modeling Andyโ€™s Standard of Excellence and taking ownership of functional responsibilities within the store. The Assistant General Manager assists in ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operations to include but not limited to: product preparation and delivery, customer service, facilities maintenance and financial accountability. This role accomplishes these objectives by actively selecting, training, and coaching the talent to achieve key results in Custard, Crew, and Customers.


To be considered for this position you must be at least 18 years of age and have at least 1 year of management experience, quick service preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Custard:

  • Responsible for all orders including adjusting pars during season changes and participating in monthly inventory

  • Deliver legendary customer service to all customers by using a โ€œcustomer comes firstโ€ attitude

  • Assist with food ordering and deliveries

  • Correct rotation of product (first in first out)

  • Completes designated Food Safety and Training programs as prescribed


Crew:

  • Responsible for driving key performance indicators, sales and transaction growth, and overall profitability of the store

  • Form partnership with General Manager to serve together as the storeโ€™s top leadership

  • Effectively lead the store and provide direction when the General Manager is not present

  • Constantly communicates with District Manager and Andyโ€™s home office as appropriate

  • Perform all dayโ€‘toโ€‘day tasks that is asked of our store crew

  • Drive the implementation of company programs by following direction and established procedures

  • Manage with the integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Andyโ€™s Frozen Custard

  • Plan and communicate appropriate responsibilities and practices to crew members to ensure smooth flow of operations

  • Attend store management meetings, regional meetings, and company meetings as requested

  • Assists GM with monitoring and managing store staffing levels, and recruit as needed, according to current shift count needs

  • Interview, hire, onboard, and follow training programs and progress

  • Accurately forecast, schedule, and execute the labor model as designed

  • Hold one on ones, holding crew accountable and manage progressive discipline when necessary

  • Perform all cleaning duties expected of store crew, as well as power washing outside concrete

  • Build positive and professional relationships with store crew, leading by example

  • Execute store operations, achieving maximum operational efficiency during scheduled shifts including store opening, shift change, closing, daily, weekly.

  • Assist in managing at other locations as requested

  • Meet or exceed shift level key performance indicators

  • Ensures that all health and safety regulations are being followed

  • Follow and reinforce Andyโ€™s operational policies and procedures

  • Follow and reinforce Andyโ€™s Dress Code and Personal Appearance Policy

  • Ensure all vendor orders are accurate and complete


Customer:

  • Display a โ€œcustomer comes firstโ€ attitude by training and holding team accountable for delivering exceptional customer service

  • Use B.L.A.S.T. to handle customer complaints and discuss reconciliation with store team

  • Involved in local store marketing, attends chamber and fundraisers as needed

  • Utilize operational tools to achieve maximum operational efficiency, i.e., Drive times, food costs, labor costs, etc.

  • Always maintain all health and safety regulations

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must have 1-2 years of proven management experience in the food service industry or leadership role in a related industry, or Andyโ€™s experience

  • Can manage cash according to cash handling and banking policies

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work

  • Must be able to work 30+ hours per week, and have open availability

  • Must be able to work late nights, weekends, as well as some holidays, including but not limited to memorial day, labor day, 4th of July, and Easter

  • Complete training in all areas of store within designated amount of time

  • Complete all required tasks on Andyโ€™s training modules, and other programs

  • Must be able to manage, effectively, in a fastโ€‘paced environment

  • Must be able to take direction and delegate responsibilities

  • Must be able to use touch sensitive POS System tablet

  • Effective oral communication skills and strong Interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain the Andyโ€™s culture/values at all times, even during moments of high stress
