Halker Consulting is a nationwide provider of multi-disciplined Engineering, Design, Project Management, Procurement and Field Services for Oil & Gas, and other Energy industry sectors.
Halker Consulting specializes in Oil and Gas surface facilities, Power Infrastructure, Environmental Remediation and Design, Automation and Digital Solutions, and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
  • Review and analyze financial data for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
  • Research and resolve GL discrepancies, including unusual balances and reconciling items
  • Maintain and update recurring accruals, prepaid expenses, and amortization schedules
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and cash account review
  • Administer bi-weekly payroll process
  • Support fixed asset tracking, additions, disposals, and depreciation entries
  • Collaborate with project accounting, AP, AR, and payroll teams to ensure proper coding and timely month-end close
  • Assist with audit support, financial reporting, and preparation of schedules for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support process improvements and internal controls related to the general ledger and month-end close

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience, preferably in general ledger accounting, month-end close, or corporate accounting
  • College degree in accounting/finance, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP or project accounting systems (Deltek, NetSuite, or similar) or a willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational ability

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation is negotiable and shall be offered commensurate with experience
  • Expected base salary range: $80,000 - $95,000
