Job description

The Production Laborer position is a full-time position that will work 12-hour shifts (a rotating day and night shift). There is a possibility of working an 8-hour swing. The Tomahawk Mill is a 24-hour operation; candidates must be able to work any assigned rotating shifts and be available on short notice of overtime. 
 

Basic Qualifications:

Position requires minimum age 18

High School Diploma or G.E.D

Work any assigned rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime

At least two years of full or part-time work in the last four years

Ability to read, write and speak in English

Must possess a valid driver's license

Satisfactory completion of background check and drug screen


Preferred Qualifications:

Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred.

At least 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, equipment or process operations and equivalent skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.


The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers

Ability to exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills

Capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem-solving, ambiguity and change

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously

Ability to read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions, and reports
 

Tests and Board Interview:

Those selected to go through the PCA hiring process will be asked to take a series of computer tests and take part in a structured board interview.

The tests are all timed and involve:

The ability to visualize three-dimensional figures

The ability to compare numbers or patterns quickly and accurately
