Job description

Job Summary: The General Laborer on the assembly line is assigned to a specific work cell on the assembly line and is required to perform job duties specific to that work cell such as: top installation, furniture installation, wall installation, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
  • Follows all pre-established installation and quality methods, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of work
  • Reads order-specific job travelers and/or engineered drawings to ensure each order is produced to specifications
  • Uses various hand tools, power tools, and air tools (saws, staplers, drills, grinders, screwdrivers, rivet guns, sanders, etc.)
  • Completes job duties as needed within assigned work cell
  • Completes all job duties within given time constraints
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Cross-trains between several different jobs
  • Cleans and maintains work area
  • Pursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flow

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Needs good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defects
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
