Electrical Assembler

Madison Heights, MI

Ajax Tocco Magnethermic (ATM), a subsidiary of ParkOhio, traces its roots back to the 1800s and has a rich history of excellence in induction heating and melting solutions. The present company was formed in 1959 when the Magnethermic Corporation acquired the assets of Ajax Electrothermic Corp. combining their expertise and capabilities.

Position Summary:

The Electrical Assembler is responsible for the final assembly, wiring, and integration of medium- and high-frequency power supply systems and related equipment. This role combines electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and system integration to ensure fully functional, test-ready products that meet customer specifications. The position requires strong blueprint reading skills, hands-on technical ability, and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:

- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) to plan assembly work

- Verify kit contents and identify shortages or discrepancies prior to assembly

- Perform electrical wiring, terminations, and connections per specifications

- Assemble and connect mechanical components, including heat stations, coil assemblies, and work handling systems

- Install and route pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including associated tubing and hoses

- Perform water testing and system checks to ensure proper function and compliance

- Modify, adjust, or fabricate components as needed to meet design and performance requirements

- Align, fit, and assemble subcomponents and final systems with precision

- Support system layout and assembly for testing, inspection, and final customer acceptance

- Perform final clean-up and preparation for shipment or installation

- Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly or fit-up issues

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

- Follow all safety policies and procedures

- Support occasional off-site service or installation work as needed

What you need to be successful:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 1-3 years of manufacturing or assembly experience (electrical/mechanical preferred)

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOMs

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and BOMs

- Familiarity with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems preferred

-Ability to use hand power tools

- Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and metric conversions

- Forklift certifiable
