  • Ability to identify production problems and communicate them clearly
  • Ability to complete daily reports and basic field documentation
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to project locations as required

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and execute the daily erection plan from the Erection Superintendent
  • Lead structural steel ironworkers, welders, and field personnel
  • Conduct morning safety meetings, JHAs, and pre-task planning
  • Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to individual crew members
  • Review erection drawings and understand erection sequence before work begins
  • Confirm steel, hardware, tools, rigging, equipment, and drawings are available before starting work
  • Coordinate daily crane picks and communicate clearly with crane operators and rigging personnel
  • Direct installation of beams, columns, joists, decking, miscellaneous steel, and related structural components
  • Maintain the planned erection sequence
  • Prevent crews from jumping between incomplete areas or working out of sequence without approval
  • Coordinate erection, bolt-up, plumbing/alignment, and field welding
  • Make sure bolting and welding remain caught up with erection
  • Monitor crew productivity throughout the day
  • Adjust crew assignments when needed to maintain production
  • Track daily installed quantities and work completed
  • Identify missing, damaged, or incorrect steel immediately
  • Identify drawing conflicts, connection issues, access problems, or other field conditions that affect production
  • Report delays and field problems to the Erection Superintendent
  • Maintain jobsite housekeeping and organization
  • Make sure Company tools, rigging, welding equipment, lifts, and other field equipment are properly used and maintained
