Job description

General Education Instructor

Location: Pima Medical Institute - San Antonio Campus | On-Site

Position Type: Part-Time (8–16 Hours/Week) | Day Shift

Compensation: $28.19 – $35.23 per hour

Pima Medical Institute is seeking passionate educators to join our San Antonio campus and help prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. In this role, you will teach foundational general education courses that form the backbone of our students' academic and professional development.

Courses Taught May Include:

  • Algebra, Math Applications
  • Anatomy & Physiology
  • Communications
  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Medical Terminology
  • Medical Law & Ethics

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with institutional curriculum.
  • Tailor instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and foster an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Track and report attendance; notify Student Services of consecutive absences.
  • Support academic achievement with targeted interventions to maintain an 80% student success rate.
  • Identify and refer students with averages below 77% for additional academic support.
  • Submit final grades and maintain accurate academic records.
  • Partner with Program Directors to enhance curriculum and instructional quality.
  • Contribute to student retention efforts and campus-wide initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a CHEA-accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in assigned courses.
  • Valid teaching credential (Secondary or Adult Education) preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of classroom teaching experience preferred.

  • Competitive Pay: $28.19 – $35.23 per hour.
  • Flexible part-time schedule, 8–16 hours per week.

  • This is an on-campus role with light administrative duties including grading, documentation, and communication.
