Join an agile highly motivated team of engineers responsible for the development and implementation of emerging technology for use in ground combat vehicles. The function of this position is to ensure that multiple Agile teams within an Agile Release Train stay aligned, remove impediments, deliver value and continuously improve.  Product teams work together using the latest advances in Software Development, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and DevSecOps to bring these concepts to reality.

Responsibilities to Anticipate: 
  • Responsible for planning and execution of scope, budget, schedule, technical work planning, tracking, and transfer of technology & software.
  • Responsible for subcontractor management, ensuring they adhere to schedule and deliveries
  • Participate in development and presentation of design reviews
  • Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) Events & Execution
    • Lead and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning, ensuring readiness and alignment across all teams.
    • Coordinate ART ceremonies and maintain calendar adherence for PI cycles.
    • Ensure alignment, transparency, and execution throughout the PI lifecycle.
  • Optimize Flow of Value
    • Manage and optimize the ART flow of value, ensuring teams deliver high-quality solutions.
    • Identify and manage bottlenecks, resource constraints, and workflow inefficiencies.
  • Remove Impediments and Manage Risks
    • Resolve or escalate impediments that block team progress
    • Help the ART manage risks such as budget, productivity, or delivery issues.
  • Coach Team and Leaders
    • Coach Scrum Masters, Agile teams, and Leaders in SAFe Principles and Agile practices.
    • Assess ART agility and guide continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate Across Teams and Stakeholders
    • Serve as a liaison between product management, development and executive leadership
    • Manage dependencies between teams and other release trains
    • Foster collaboration and synchronization across all ART teams.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement
    • Facilitate, Inspect and Adapt events after each PI
    • Collect and analyze metrics to improve ART performance.
  
Required Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor degree (Masters preferred) in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years related engineering experience.
  • Prior experience as a Scrum Master or Agile coach.
  • Deep understanding of SAFe, Agile, and Lean principles.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and servant-leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cross-team dependencies and risks.
  • Skilled in coaching, conflict resolution, and organization change.
  • Comfortable presenting to wide audience including Customer, Leadership, and cross-discipline teams.
  • Knowledgeable in systems engineering concepts.
  • Experience with technical program management for complex systems.
  • Ability to align objectives with a cross functional team.
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office and other engineering software.
  • Be goal oriented and keep the team focused to task.
  • This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).
  • This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space).
  • The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends as needed by the project.
  • Ability to travel when needed, minimal travel required for this role.
  
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Understanding of military land vehicle engineering, especially at GDLS, is a plus
  • Strong background in high level programming language such as C & C++
  • SAFe RTE, SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification or related Agile certifications
  • Experience with Agile tools (Jira, Rally, Azure, DevSecOps)
  • Background in software development for large-scale systems delivery.
