Location: PVS Solutions - Ohio Facility
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with rounds every 3rd weekend
Position Summary
The Loader is a key member of the plant operations team responsible for the safe loading, unloading, handling, and movement of chemical products and raw materials. This role supports daily manufacturing, logistics, and distribution activities while maintaining strict compliance with environmental, health, safety, and security requirements. The position also provides exposure to general plant operations, logistics coordination, vendor interaction, and basic maintenance support activities.
Essential Responsibilities
(May include but are not limited to the following)
Loading & Logistics Operations
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, environmentally responsible manner in accordance with PVS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in required safety meetings, training sessions, and drills.
  • Assist in maintaining plant security and controlled access as required.
  • Load and unload railcars and trucks to support plant production and shipping schedules; most work is performed outdoors.
  • Determine proper loading levels using outage tables and verify correct product, quantity, and specifications.
  • Move railcars as required for loading and unloading operations.
  • Assist PVS transportation drivers and outside carriers during loading and unloading activities.
  • Receive inbound deliveries, verify materials against packing slips, and forward documentation to the Plant Administration Coordinator.
  • Maintain housekeeping in loading, containment, and general plant areas, including pumping down finish pad and reduction pad containment areas.

Drum Handling & Packaging
  • Coordinate drum loading requirements with the Plant Manager and/or Assistant Plant Manager using established communication tools.
  • Fill, label, palletize, wrap, and store drums in accordance with product specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Transport empty drums to loading areas and move finished pallets to designated storage locations.
  • Prepare and stage drum orders for shipment.
  • Load drum orders onto common carriers, ensuring accuracy by matching product and quantities to the bill of lading.
  • Ensure bills of lading and packing slips are completed accurately and fully.

Maintenance & Equipment Support
  • Perform basic operator-level maintenance, including routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments on loading equipment, pumps, hoses, valves, and transfer systems.
  • Identify, report, and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues, leaks, or abnormal operating conditions.
  • Support preventive maintenance (PM) activities and assist maintenance personnel during repairs and outages as directed.
  • Properly use and care for tools, loading arms, hoses, gaskets, and associated equipment.
  • Assist with lockout/tagout activities under supervision and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of loading equipment to support safe and efficient operations.

Responsible Care, Safety & Compliance
  • Comply with all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) regulations related to chemical handling, transportation, and rail operations.
  • Ensure railcars and transport equipment meet security and safety requirements prior to shipment.
  • Communicate EHS&S expectations and potential hazards to carriers and contractors.
  • Assist with incident investigations and near-miss reporting as required.
  • Uphold the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care® Guiding Principles, recognizing that safety, environmental protection, and security are responsibilities of every PVS employee.

Required Education, Training & Experience
  • Prior experience in a chemical manufacturing or industrial plant environment preferred.
  • Training or experience in hazardous materials handling, PPE use, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and industrial safety practices preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance and equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Forklift, manlift, and bobcat operation experience or certification preferred.
  • Must be physically capable of operating industrial equipment and wearing required respiratory protection.
  • Ability to work weekends, overtime, and rotating shifts as required to meet production demands.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
