Job Description:

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Chemistry Lab Assistant

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: For your application to be considered complete, please submit the online application along with a cover letter, resume, and transcript (if applicable). Prior to hiring, candidates will undergo a pre-employment criminal background check, motor vehicle records review, and employer/professional reference verification. After initial screening, additional documentation may be requested.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Part-time position based on semester system. This position is for the Fall 2026 semester beginning on, August 17, 2026 and ending December 14, 2026. Lab assistant responsibilities centered on assisting the science faculty with laboratory preparation and activities.

Note: Lab Assistant positions are part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. Therefore, your employment is limited, and there is no expectation that your association with Chattahoochee Tech will be extended beyond this term.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of all of the following sequence of classes with a minimum grade of "B" in the laboratory portion of the course:
    • CHEM1211/CHEM1211L (General Chemistry 1) and CHEM1212/CHEM1212L (General Chemistry 2), or their equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer literacy skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary, $12/hour - with a maximum of 19 hours per week. There are no State Benefits.
