Job description

At Roche/Genentech Pharma Product Development Global Clinical Operations (PDG), we are determined to transform drug development and realize our Pharma Ambition to deliver 20 transformative medicines addressing diseases with the highest societal burden by 2029. We are looking for a Enterprise Key Category Partnership Lead, who will be accountable for the management, performance, delivery and oversight of end-to-end, enterprise wide, clinical service category / categories across Roche Global Product Development (including Clinical Operations and Medical Affairs), Pharma Research and Early Development, Genentech Research and Early Development and US Medical Affairs.

The Enterprise Clinical Service Provider Lead role will be responsible for specific category(ies) of clinical service providers. This role is primarily focused on the IxRS category but will also be required to support emerging categories based on portfolio needs and organizational strategy. Example areas include patient matching, patient engagement, transportation, and reimbursement, etc.

The Opportunity:

  • Relationship Management: Exemplary skills in developing and nurturing successful global supplier partnerships and robust stakeholder management to balance complex needs with business goals.

  • Communication and Negotiation: Exceptional communication and advanced negotiation abilities, with extensive experience in strategically managing complex supplier partnerships.

  • Supplier Governance and Issue Management: Own category /supplier governance, comprehensive oversight, and strategic issue management/escalation across global clinical operations. Expert knowledge of service provider landscape (e.g. IxRS, patient matching, patient engagement, transportation, and reimbursement, etc.)

  • Decision-Making: Exceptional and strategic decision-making skills, capable of weighing complex short- and long-term impacts, and excellent judgment in escalating risks and issues.

  • Strategic Development and Execution: Ability to strategically develop and execute category sourcing strategies to optimize Clinical Operations across Business Units. Examples of supplier categories include IxRS, patient matching, patient engagement, transportation, and reimbursement, etc.

  • Financial Oversight: Establish comprehensive financial oversight with Global Procurement to optimize spend and deliver cost efficiencies, including advanced service provider budget benchmarking and change order oversight.

Who You Are:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Life Sciences, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, Master's in Healthcare Management)

  • You possess 8+ years of relevant experience in strategic supplier performance management in clinical development, or extensive direct experience working with clinical suppliers in performance management at a study and portfolio level.

  • You have 3+ years of experience in Interactive Voice/Web Response System (IxRS) and other emergency categories and you have an understanding the inner workings of these services, the supplier landscape and best practices around sourcing strategies and performance management (e.g. KPI's, KQI's, etc.)

  • You have exceptional communication and advanced negotiation abilities, with extensive experience in strategically managing complex partnerships.

  • You demonstrate exemplary relationship management and influential stakeholder management capabilities that span multiple business and organizational units to drive and influence results.

  • You have exhibited exceptional and strategic decision-making skills, capable of weighing complex short- and long-term impacts that significantly affect the business.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $145,400-270,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
