Position Title Adjunct Instructor, Spanish Language Employment Category Adjunct Contract Length N/A Expected Work Schedule Variable Anticipated Days Anticipated Days:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (Instructor's choice); Expected Work Schedule; Afternoon and/or Evening - 1-2 classes per week Anticipated Hours 16 class contact hours Anticipated Hours per Week 2-4 hours per week Job Description Summary
Teach non-credit Continuing Education Spanish classes designed for adults. Experience teaching Beginning I through Advanced Conversation levels. Focus on speaking, reading, writing, as well as, grammar, pronunciation, composition, spelling, and vocabulary, Follow the curriculum and book set for each level. Provide course description and outline to students. Maintain good rapport with students. Work closely with the Director of Community Enrichment Programs.
Duties
  1. Follow course outline and set curriculum.
  2. Use PowerPoint slides each week.
  3. Maintain class attendance records.
  4. Submit class handouts for printing.
  5. Follow A-B Tech policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Spanish, or Certification in Spanish to English Translation.
  2. Three years previous teaching or tutoring experience in a classroom setting.
  3. Lived in or traveled to Spanish-speaking countries.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's Degree in Spanish
2. Five years of previous teaching experience
3. Native Speaker.
