Job Overview
Performs tasks that are unskilled, operates various vehicles as required and uses small power equipment. This position requires physical abilities and effort to assist in work assignments. Assists in work assignments that involve little or no specialized skills, prior work experience or specialized training in a journeyman occupational trade or craft.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances. Moves supplies and materials to proper location using a wheelbarrow, hand truck or forklift.
  • Performs corrosion control and paints or touches up equipment and vehicles using mechanical hand tools as necessary.
  • Operate a tire cutting machines.
  • Wash, wax and clean the interior of vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist drivers with dunnage and blocking of loads.
  • Assist in performing car wash facility maintenance.
  • Clean car wash facility as needed.
  • Deliver and pickup vehicles to various vendors for repairs.
  • Make parts runs including operating a 24' stake-bed truck and operating the lift gate, assisting journeyman and the parts and tool attendant.
  • Stacks material for storage; collects refuse and salvageable materials.
  • Operates forklift to move essential gear and equipment as needed.
  • Cleans workshop areas and worksites, including sweeping, washing & mopping.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • Maintain valid State issued Driver's License and provide a Department of Motor Vehicle report covering the past three (3) years.
  • Capable of being trained to safely operate a 24' Stake Bed truck and forklifts.
  • Capable of passing a background check for Base Access and Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Capable of passing drug test as required by the contract.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be able to comprehend, read, speak, and write proficiently in the English language.
  • Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoors work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  • Must be able to complete assigned tasks in high or confined spaces.
  • Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed.
  • Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.
  • Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, gravel, cement structures and surfaces.

Physical Requirements:
  • Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and walkways.
