We are seeking an exceptionalTechnical Leadfor our Indianapolis Bakery, a pivotal role within our plant's leadership team. As a key member of our leadership team (PLT), you will be instrumental in bridging complex technical insights with strategic business objectives. Your ability to influence, communicate gaps, and champion best practices will be critical in delivering measurable results that impact waste reduction, efficiency gains, and sustained growth across our operations.

How you will contribute

  • Be trusted and viewed as a technical subject matter (SME)
  • Serve as an internally recognized expert in process development and engineering, identifying, defining, and solving complex business problems through a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing technology.
  • Conduct rigorous analysis of product formulation, packaging, and specifications for raw to ensure that all new formulas and initiatives introduced at the Indy Clif bakery arefully runnableon the production lines to guarantee general efficiency (GE%) and waste % targets of the year based on annual contract (AC).
  • Leverage deep knowledge of oven functionality, utilizing advanced thermal devices (e.g., Mole, Scorpion) and statistical analysis to establish and maintain substantial centerlines.
  • Actively participate in Technical Readiness Level (TRL) reviews and discussions, shaping the technical direction of the business.
  • Lead the execution and oversight of Alternative Line Qualifications (ALQ), provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for trials.
  • Part of Commissioning, Qualification and Verification (CQV) methodology for bottom-up and top-down initiatives ensuring meticulous documentation developed for centerlines, critical parameters to the process (CTP's) and critical parameters to quality (CTQ's).
  • Lead Strategic Projects & Process Optimization:
  • Drive process development and optimization to deliver tangible consumer benefits through new product presentations, quality inspired projects and significant cost savings.
  • Develop bottom-up initiatives, technical approaches, detailed plans, deliverables, and timelines to ensure resolutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate globally and regionally, aligning with the Engineering, Research and Development (R&D), Business Development (BD) and Quality agendas to deploy robust processes across Mondelez Clif factories, emphasizing a superior consumer experience.
  • Cultivate Leadership and Talent Development
  • Mentor junior talents as process engineers and quality engineers fostering an environment that encourages process innovation and renovation.
  • Manage and guide an intern for a 12-week program in summertime, developing future technical leaders.
  • Manage a product technician team member responsible of conducting qualitative and quantitative bar tests and defects measurements.
  • Influence the technical direction of the business through exceptional organizational awareness and clear, compelling communication.
  • Roll out and embed manufacturing standards processes, specifically focusing on capability building, advanced training for core and supportive teams to eradicate quality losses (e.g., overpack, consumer complaints).
  • Drive the continuous evolution of foundational skills and capabilities, ensuring they remain at the forefront of technological advancements.
  • Act as a senior technical resource in quality management (QM) and innovation initiative management (IIM) pillars leading specific work process and supporting integrated design brief (IDB) and critical parameters to the process developed.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):Adherence to standard PPE requirements including steel-toe, slip-resistant shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs):Strict compliance with GMPs such as hair nets, beard guards, no jewelry, no fake nails or nail polish, and no lash extensions.
  • Physical Demands:The role requires standing, walking, and climbing stairs regularly.

Salary and Benefits:The base salary range for this position is $109,000 to $149,875; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results. In addition, Mondelez International offers the following benefits: health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education related programs, paid holidays and vacation time. Some of these benefits have eligibility requirements.
