Job Description Summary

The Lead Engineer, Steam Turbine Product Service will lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and potentially high impact to the PS business. This lead engineer will work together with multiple cross functional teams and customers to provide innovative solutions to turbine related issues, develop robust, cost-effective solutions to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation meeting customer needs as well as the needs of the business.

Job Description

The Steam Turbine Product Service Lead Engineer will lead the execution of projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and is a recognized expert in a specialized field. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Own the technical resolution to multiple complex steam turbine issues while mentoring and training of others in areas of expertise and experience.

Act as a conduit and proactively facilitate cross functional collaboration between engineering teams, design teams, commercial teams, manufacturing, suppliers and other teams to develop and implement technical solutions to meet customer needs.

Provide leadership in coordinating and presenting at technical conferences and other customer facing events.

Lead cross-functional teams in execution of Root Cause Analysis of GE equipment non-conformances.

Lead cross-functional teams in initiatives to improve starting reliability, availability and trip reduction.

Provide technical support for new unit installation / startup and other outage work scopes providing ER support for critical issues.

Authoring of, as well as coaching and mentoring of others, in the creation of internal and external communications (TILS, ETC, customer presentations, etc.) to provide guidance on major issue resolution

Communicate fleet and product issues into the NPI process and throughout all levels of GE leadership to identify new opportunities and drive development of effective offerings

Actively engage in and contribute to global product service meetings to grow personal expertise in addition to helping further the overall global team's expertise

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

4 years of steam turbine experience.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
