Job Description SummaryIn this role as a Production Assembler at our GE Jacksonville site, you will be a key member of our production team, helping to assemble a variety of electronic components for OEM and engine repair. You will learn how to assemble electrical components and systems, such as harnesses, sensors, igniters, leads, and exciters, as well as how to solder and perform functional testing. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual & basic measurement inspection of parts subsequent to assembly steps.

  • Cut, strip, and crimp wire.

  • Performs functional tests using a variety of equipment to verify accuracy and functionality (i.e. electrical, helium, and leak tests).

  • Operate test equipment.

  • Obtain all required certifications.

  • Safely handle hazardous materials.

  • Use a wide variety of hand and/or power tools.

  • Conduct weight measuring.

Requirements Include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior assembly experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret dimensional measurements (calipers, and scales).

  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screen (as applicable).

  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Possess basic math, computer, and ERP skills, along with basic written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to cross-train as required and be capable of reading and interpreting blueprints.

  • Experience in soldering, electronics manufacturing, assembly, and brazing is preferred.

  • Dimensional and electrical training.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
