Position Description:
GCON is looking for a Superintendent with proven experience leading mission critical construction projects. This role will oversee a ground-up data center project in West Texas, with an anticipated project duration of at least two years and opportunities to take on additional projects with GCON following completion. As Superintendent, you will serve as the onsite point person and customer liaison, overseeing all day-to-day field operations and taking ownership of safety, quality, schedule, and execution. You will lead the project team and trade partners while driving continuous improvement and maintaining a high standard of excellence throughout the project.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee building of complex, mission critical projects.
  • Contribute to the preconstruction phase, buyout, logistics, and scheduling.
  • Communicate the project plan's success factors and implementation strategies.
  • Reconcile Work in Progress (WIP) with Trade contractors� Schedule of Values and submit timely and accurate payment requisitions.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Profit Plan (PP) and project financial forecast.
  • Conduct jobsite lean and Last Planner System (LPS) boot camps.
  • Establish and maintain a weekly cadence of LPS and continuous improvement activities between staff and trade partners.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and collaborate with stakeholders to provide an effective Quality Control (QC) program.
  • Create and assess Weekly Work Plan (WWP) and Pre-Task Plan (PTP) for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Execute Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures, implement Injury Free Environments, and identify safety training needs for the team.
  • Review overall safety performance and data, discuss with trade partners, and understand leading and lagging safety indicators.
  • Foster and encourage communication with all project team members (inclusive of GCON, A/E & Owner).
  • Ensure project schedules are maintained and/or improved.
  • Hold weekly subcontractor/foreman meetings to review schedule, coordination, safety, housekeeping, etc.
  • Ensure that the jobsite is clean, organized and safe. Must have a presence on site during any activity.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with client, design professionals, and subcontractors.
  • Facilitate High Tech processes and procedures.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • 7-10+ years of relevant site management experience on ground up commercial and/or high tech or mission critical projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Utilize P6 to build project schedules.
  • Proficient with Procore and/or CMIC.

  • Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio
