The Opportunity
GCB Building Group is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused **Luxury Design-Build Assistant Project Manager / Interior Designer** to support high-end residential renovations and custom home projects from concept through completion. This role is ideal for someone who has strong interior design experience, understands construction coordination, and can assist with project management responsibilities in a fast-paced luxury residential environment.
You will help guide clients through the design and selections process while also supporting project managers with scheduling, documentation, vendor coordination, field communication, and project follow-through. This is a highly collaborative role where your design eye, organization, and construction knowledge will directly impact the success of luxury residential projects across South Florida.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Manage and support the interior design process for luxury residential renovations and custom home projects.
- Guide clients through interior finish selections, including flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, paint, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and other luxury materials.
- Create design boards, finish schedules, material specifications, selection documents, and client presentation materials.
- Assist project managers with day-to-day project coordination, schedule tracking, documentation, and communication.
- Support the planning and execution of project timelines, client deliverables, vendor orders, and subcontractor coordination.
- Review architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and construction documents to ensure design intent, selections, and project details are accurately communicated.
- Coordinate with architects, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure selections and design details are properly executed on-site.
- Attend job site visits, client meetings, vendor appointments, and showroom visits as needed.
- Track material selections, quotes, production lead times, delivery dates, change orders, and project updates.
- Assist with BuilderTrend updates, client communication, project documentation, and selection tracking.
- Help identify potential project delays, missing information, or coordination issues and communicate them proactively to the project team.
- Maintain organized project files, finish schedules, selection documents, design records, meeting notes, and vendor communications.
- Provide a professional, polished, and responsive client experience throughout the design-build process.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in residential design, interior design, luxury residential construction, assistant project management, or design-build environments.
- Experience supporting or coordinating luxury residential renovations, custom homes, or high-end construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of interior finish selections, construction details, design documentation, and residential space planning.
- Ability to read, interpret, and accurately analyze architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and construction documents.
- Experience creating finish schedules, material specification packages, selection documents, and client-facing presentations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, selections, and communication details at once.
- Excellent communication skills for working directly with luxury clients, vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and internal team members.
- Ability to assist with project management tasks, including scheduling support, documentation, follow-up, vendor coordination, and project tracking.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel regionally to job sites, vendor showrooms, and client meetings.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Interior Designer, Design Coordinator, or Design-Build Coordinator within residential construction.
- Advanced proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Chief Architect, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Hands-on experience using BuilderTrend for project management, client communication, selection tracking, and construction documentation.
- Established relationships with luxury material vendors, design showrooms, and trade partners throughout South Florida.
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients, luxury finishes, custom cabinetry, millwork, lighting, plumbing fixtures, tile, stone, and premium materials.
- Strong understanding of construction timelines, procurement, change orders, material lead times, and field coordination.
