Industrial Pipefitter Oil & Gas Compressor Station

Location: South Bend, PA
Pay: $35.00$40.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Per Diem: $100/day worked (Paid for up to 6 days per week)
Schedule: 6 Days/Week | 12-Hour Shifts (Approximately 72 Hours/Week)
Duration: Approximately 3 Months
Start Date: ASAP

Job Overview

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking experienced Bolt-Up Pipefitters for a natural gas compressor station project in South Bend, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled tradespeople with compressor station, pipeline, or industrial process facility experience who are looking for steady overtime and competitive pay.

This position involves working on carbon steel piping systems both above and below ground, performing precision pipe fitting, bolting, and installation work in an active industrial environment. Candidates must be able to read drawings, perform take-offs, and work safely while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Bolt-up and assemble carbon steel piping systems on oil & gas compressor stations.
  • Install, align, fit, and secure piping and mechanical components according to project specifications.
  • Perform piping work on both above-ground and below-ground systems.
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, and piping layouts.
  • Perform material take-offs from drawings and field conditions.
  • Measure, mark, cut, bevel, and prepare pipe for installation.
  • Assist with rigging, setting, and positioning pipe and mechanical equipment.
  • Verify proper flange alignment and gasket installation while ensuring bolt torque requirements are met.
  • Maintain quality workmanship while meeting project production goals.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Work closely with supervisors and other crafts to complete work safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Pipefitter/Bolt-Up Fitter in the oil & gas, compressor station, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial construction industry.
  • Experience working with carbon steel piping systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, piping drawings, and isometric prints.
  • Experience performing material take-offs.
  • Must successfully complete a pipe cut test.
  • Strong knowledge of safe rigging, flange assembly, and piping installation practices.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite.

Required Certifications & Screening

  • OSHA 10 Certification (Required)
  • 5-Panel Drug Screen
  • Site specific training will be provided
  • Completion of required online Infinity Training prior to mobilization.

Required PPE

Candidates must report to the jobsite with:

  • Type II Fire Retardant (FR) Clothing
  • Hard Hat
  • Steel Toe Boots
  • Basic hand tools appropriate for the trade 

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35.00$40.00/hour depending on experience
  • $100/day per diem for each day worked (up to 6 days per week)
