Gas pipeline security is designed to protect key assets and infrastructure related to the delivery of natural gas and oil from fields to refineries. Gas pipelines often stretch thousands of miles through multiple countries and are vulnerable to different types of meddling, including acts of terrorism and vandalism. As a gas pipeline security worker, your duties are to look out for the safety of the system and ensure that operations continue unabated. Your responsibilities may include patrolling a gas facility, stretch of pipeline, transfer station, or the infrastructure connected to a refinery or other facility. Many pipeline security jobs are in other countries, and this work usually goes to military contractors.
